Can I buy books from you online?

You can buy books with us online via Bookshop.org. Bookshop.org is an online bookshop that helps support independent bookshops.

It is easy to use and when you purchase a book from them, you support us too! Just select The Reading Room as the bookshop you would like to support.

Can you order books for me to collect from your shop?

Absolutely! We process lots of customer orders, just send us an email thereadingroommelrose@gmail.com with the title of the book, the author and your contact details and we’ll do the rest. As soon as the book has arrived we’ll let you know it’s ready for collection.

Do you accept National Book Tokens?

We do! You can buy and redeem National Book Tokens at The Reading Room. We also have gift vouchers solely for use at The Reading Room which are popular with our local customers.

I’m an author, will you stock my book?

Please have your publisher send us a copy so we can see if it’s the right fit for the shop. If you are self-published, please send us an email with information about the book.

Unfortunately, we can’t stock every book and sometimes certain books are just not the right ‘fit’ for our shop, that doesn’t mean we didn’t enjoy your book though it just means at this time it isn’t right for our shop.

Are dogs allowed to visit your shop?

Yes, we love having dogs visit us! We are big animal lovers here at The Reading Room.

What’s the best thing about working at The Reading Room?

Aside from all the books it is definitely meeting customer and talking about books and exchanging recommendations!
